If you were thinking about coming along to Port Talbot for a free Photo Shoot with me, sorry all the places are allocated.
The spot for this view of the steelworks isn’t very big and parking is a bit of a nightmare so the books are closed.
However, I am doing an Intermediate ABC of CameraWork Course in Tiger Bay, Cardiff on the 24th Jan 2015.
Click www.andybeelfrps.co.uk/ABCofCameraWork for details of the one day course.

This sounds like it would have been just my cup of tea having shot in and around the steelworks at Redcar and Scunthorpe, pity it’s the wrong side of the country for me:(

Hi Andy How’s the F going? Yes it is a bit of a drive for you to south wales. Does Tata own the steelworks up there as well?
You say you have photographed inside the works, how did you gain permission and was it worth it photographically? I would be interested in doing something similar as I am knocked out by Gene Smiths Philli pictures. Thanks Andy

Hi Andy, Scunthorpe was a permission visit on the Appleby and Frodingham Railway Preservation Society that uses the internal works railway network at weekends. They’ve banned people from using cameras now unfortunately. Tata own Scunthorpe but Redcar has been sold to a Thai company.

Redcar is easy to photograph as the blast furnace is right next to the road and sand dunes, so you can snap away to your hearts content.

The F is going well I think – first submission failed, but I’ve got some great feedback, have reworked my panel and have got a workshop booked in April, so hopefully will re-apply after that!

Hi Andy many thanks for all the links I will work through them all. I know that Tata have a visitor centre at Port Talbot. I am seeing a friend of mine tomorrow who lives there, so he may know more than me! Thanks again Andy
