The new Avon Valley Salon of Photography is open for entries.
www.avonvalley.photography/salon.html
This is the FIRST salon to have an international Triptych Section – your previous acceptances can be entered again as part of a triptych panel and receive a new acceptance for the panel.
Why not have a go if you have not entered a salon before?
The featured picture is from the penultimate shoot with Canon gear in Painswick Churchyard in Gloucestershire. I had forgotten I had taken these wide-angle shots with a Sigma 12-24mm zoom lens last month.
The final shoot with Canon gear was on Saturday at Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust. I carried around a 5DmkII with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens for the whole day – I still have the neck and shoulder ache on my right side.
On a slightly different matter, I am well informed that there has been a deputation from professional wildlife photographers to Fuji in Japan to sort out the speed and accuracy of the X-T1 focusing in low light.
Fuji users will remember that Fuji announced a firmware upgrade for the X-T1 at Photokina in September. This upgrade is to be made available from the 18th December. See www.fujifilm.com/news/n141120_01.html

Hi Adrian thanks. I have just sold that lens as I now have a lighter camera bag. I am sorry to see it go. Andy
