Newport Photographic Club

_MG_2777-EditI am off to Newport to do a print only talk tonight called “Marvelous Monochrome”.

For those of you who look at this picture full size which I recommend, you are not looking at camera noise but film grain put in to the mid tones and shadows with Silver Efex Pro 2. To the trained eye the two are totally different. The downside of this added feature to the picture is you need Photoshop to do the masking of where the grain goes. So using SEP2 as a Lightroom plugin for this technique is not suitable.

The picture right is not a prison but a water processing plant in the Alpujarras – southern Spain. A potential location we might go to on the FOTO Alpujarras Workshop commencing on the 17th of Nov.

I can squeeze one more participant in if you would like to come, see my website for details.
