This picture was taken at a street fashion show in The Hague a few weeks ago.
I have purposely layered the composition with the blonde with the long hair on the left and the man taking the picture on the right as a foil in the foreground to the background subject.
For me this picture works because it is more interesting than a straightforward picture of two or three girls stood in a row which is what would have had if I had moved the camera forward 6 inches to exclude the foreground.
As with all my pictures they come out of the camera relatively low contrast and there has been a certain amount post-processing to help the eye see the subject matter of the girl in the centre by darken down around for me what is the subject matter.
For those of you who wondered how well the Silver Efex Pro 2 demonstration went last Sunday, it was a sold-out full house. All the audience were inspired and educated by their own admission. A good time was had by all.
A big hello to the new followers on my little blog this week.

The layering’s definitely a good idea – good stuff! A
