Accrington, Lancashire on a wet Tuesday afternoon. Stanley rushes home to get out of the rain.
Finish the story yourself.
If you like pictures that need the viewer to complete the story I thoroughly recommend the work of Susan Burnstine see www.susanburnstine.com
She has interestingly used homemade lenses to get a variety of soft focus effects.
Why not check out other interesting photographers on my Blogroll at the bottom of the page?
Those of you following my blog for a while will know I spent a few days in Blackpool in September. This shot comes from a detour to the wet cobbled back alleys of Accrington.
Not IR this time, a Lensbaby on an expensive body focussed on the foreground just to leave the shape of Stanley. Lith process in Lightroom 3.
For my overseas readers – the town of Accrington has a football team called Accrington Stanley – Stanly coming from the name of the company the majority of the players worked for when the club was formed in the 1890’s.

I love the light in this image Andy.

If the cobbles had been dry their would have been no reflection of the poor lighting. Andy

Great shot Andy, love the slight bend in the pavement [lens distortion, but I prefer bend].
Am I right in thinking John Aldridge once played for Accrington.

Hi Dave – unfortunately I am not a football fan, the queen could have played for them and I probably would not have known – Thanks for the kind comments. Andy
