Knowledge is power. Visit www.fredmiranda.com for lens reviews by real people not journalists.
Find out what a lens is like before you buy. What do people think of the value for money, image quality, build quality, price paid, pro and cons etc?
Another tip – if you are not happy with a lens when you buy it take it back and ask for another copy of the same lens, surprisingly not all lenses are the same – production quality control varies.
I have generally found over the years that you get what you pay for. Years ago I changed my Canon ordinary lenses for the L series lenses and found the intermittent focusing problems that could not have been camera shake went away.

The featured Lith print is from a series taken at a disused Limeworks in South Wales UK.

The lens, I think, is more important than the camera that it is attached to. Love the limeworks print.

The print looks great man. true on the lens quality. I have a lowly 18-55 kit lens and amazingly enough I must have got a good one, cause it’s tack sharp! Night and day to a buddy of mines.
